The Challenge

Recently we read a very scary quote that today's generation is the first generation in history that is NOT expected to outlive their parents.
  
HEARTBREAKING!!!! (seriously...I think we just got sucker-punched!)

This Statistic is regardless of your weight ! You can be skinny and be very unhealthy at the same time. Doctors call it "skinny fat" 

This statistic is the motivation behind this blog!  So we present 

"The Challenge"... 

1.  Take responsibility and realize that you and/or your family could be a part of this horrific statistic.

2.  Open up your eyes to the simple fact that just because our society sells us something called "food" doesn't mean it actually is. 

3.  Get rid of, give up or stop purchasing at least one "food" item that you know is not benefiting you or your family at least once a week. You know what they are! (wink- wink, hahaha!)

4.  Introduce at least one new food item that you know will bring nourishment to you or your family once a week.
5.  Commit to trying at least one new healthy recipe at least once a week.

6.  Be determined and willing to shop around for the best deals.  (One of the biggest complaints we hear is that it is too expensive to eat healthy. Blah! Blah! Blah!)

7.  Promise yourself you will have a positive attitude (*especially if you are the one doing most of the cooking.  Little ones are watching you.)

8.   Try and then try again!  Don't give up and don't get discouraged!  Teaching your body to enjoy delicious and healthy food takes time.  


Think about it, you have to break the cycle!  We eat poorly and expect our bodies to run at full capacity.  We need to start making the connection between poor nutrition and poor health. None of us desire to be sick all the time, over-weight, fatigued, disease-prone, etc., etc.  
We want to encourage you to not wait one more day!!! 
Take the challenge and stop making excuses!
